  1. Prynhawn da! I am interested in learning about this event. What is a ‘Gymanfa’? I have just started learning Welsh and the Welsh bookstores still overwhelm me. I grew up in Portsmouth and have visited Oak Hill many times.

    1. Annwyl Jeneane, A gymanfa is a celebration of Welsh hymn singing. The Welsh immigrants brought the event over with them from Wales and we still hold one each year at the end of September. There is a National gymanfa held each year at the North American Festival of Wales (www.nafow.org). So happy you are learning Welsh! Jeanne Jindra
